Step 1

Create the checklist before production: specification, function, workmanship, labels and packaging.

Step 2

Agree sample size, timing and access. Distinguish visual checks from laboratory tests.

Step 3

Use the approved sample and written tolerances as references. An undefined acceptable quality standard is difficult to enforce.

Step 4

Review findings and corrective actions before shipment approval. A sampled inspection does not check every unit.
